Practice Policies

The policies and procedures in place at MedCentral Knox Medical Centre have been designed to ensure a smooth running practice and provide you with the best service

Home Visiting and Afterhours

Home visiting is available by your regular doctor if the patient is acutely ill, immobile and elderly or have no means of transport to get to our practice and must be within a 5km radius. Our afterhours services are provided by Medcentral Knox locum service on 132 660. Your request for afterhours care will be triaged by the nurses at the call center prior to any attendance.

Recalls and Reminders

Our practice is committed to preventative care and has a system for registering patients for recalls for clinically significant results and preventative advice. We also participate in the use of registers in the national state reminder systems. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time where appropriate. Please advise the receptionist if you do not wish to participate in these programs.

Interpreter Service

An interpreter service is available for all patients with language barriers.
Our Doctors can also speak Mandarin, Hokkien and Tamil. Just tell reception when making your appointment.

Patient Privacy

Our policy is to maintain security of your personal health information at all times. In the interest of providing quality health care we have developed a privacy policy that complies with the commonwealth government legislation and recognises the right of our patients to privacy. Referrals

We refer patients when necessary to a wide range of Consultants and Specialists. Our GPs can give you a referral letter to any specialist of your choice during your consultation.

Patient Feedback

We constantly strive to provide you with the best possible care and attention, we appreciate all comments, suggestions and even complaints (where possible in writing). Complaints can be addressed to our practice manager at admin@medcentralknox.com.au your complaint is not satisfactorily dealt with additional resource can be obtained at the Health Services Commissioner (1800 136 066).
